Up and coming Dumbarton band vow to be back and better than we’ve ever heard before…

Dumbarton band Mellifluous have shed loads of experience for their young age. Formed in 2004 the band have been playing across Glasgow for the best part of five years. And are currently in the process of writing their third album!

The progression from the earlier years are vast, fans that have been there from the beginning have heard the changes from a gritty, grunge sound –reminiscent of early Nirvana- to more catchy up-tempo rock tunes with lyrics that will invade your mind and have you singing along for days.

Since the launch of there hugely successful second album “Fires” in June of this year, Mellifluous have played a plethora of gigs throughout Glasgow, Clydebank and Dumbarton –including iconic Glasgow venues such as the Glasgow Barrowlands and the O2 ABC. Although with the success of the album and the “Fires” tour there have been rumours of a split, going out on a high. But on a recent blog the band responded to the speculation and assured their loyal fans that their self-imposed hibernation is not a polite way of saying, “that’s all folks!”

“We promise to return with a whole load of new songs which are going to be better than anything we have ever written before” The self-imposed hibernation is nothing more than a well deserved rest, burrowed in the local studio after a long, hard season of gigs. But with the quality of music only increasing the promise of even better is enough to make your mouth water and it’s surely worth waiting a little for.

If you think the boys of Mellifluous will tickle your fancy the album is available on itunes.
